Removal of Ca2+ and Mg2+

By removing the dissolved calcium and magnesium salts in water, softening system reduces the hardness in water to be less than 2 ppm.

Integrated and Compact Design

Available in FRP or SS Tank and electric control valve  to suit user requirement. Come along with a customised fabrication skid to fit in tight spacing.

Effective Recovery

Saturated resin can be recovered by backwashing brine through the system. The high concentration of sodium displaces the calcium and magnesium in the resin and is discharged to waste.

Fully Integrated Automation

Customized built-in intelligence for automating water sampling and regeneration process.

Applications

Reverse Osmosis Pretreatment

Softener decreases the frequency of scaling and fouling in RO membranes as they can quickly become clogged by hard water scale, leading to more pressure being required to reach the necessary yield.

Basic Principle

Softening system is a process in which "hardness ions" - mainly calcium or magnesium ions (Ca2+ and Mg2+) - are exchanged for sodium ions (Na+), thus "softening" the water.

When all the available Na+ ions have been replaced with Ca2+ and Mg2+, the resin must be recharged by ridding the Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions using a solution of sodium chloride or sodium hydroxide.
