Electrodeionization (EDI)
Technologies

Simple and Compact solution

The modular EDI system is easily expandable and occupies little space, hence maximizing user space capacity. As it also requires very few automatic valves or complex control sequences, minimal supervision is needed.

Eco-friendly, Zero Chemical Use

EDI provides a safe filtration technology with low operating cost by completely eliminating use of chemicals for regeneration and washing.

24-hour Ultra Pure Water Production

One of the major advantages EDI as opposed to the conventional systems of ionic interchange is its ability to operate continuously as there is no shutdown requirement for ion regeneration.

Exceptional Output Water Quality

With EDI, output water resistivity of 17.0 mΩ.cm can be achieved. With the addition of polisher, output water resistivity can be improved to 18.2 MΩ.cm.

Applications

Solar Power Generation

Provide free-ion water to clean solar panel without damaging the surafce, and reducing solar power absorption.

Basic Principle
edi2.JPG

Electrodeionization (EDI) utilizes electricity, ion exchange membranes and resin to deionize water and separate impurities from water. It differs from other conventional systems as it is done without chemical treatments and is usually a polishing treatment to reverse osmosis (RO).

As the water passes through the ion exchange resins that are packed between the cation and anion selective membranes, the charged ions migrate to the reject stream under the force of electric field.

Electrochemical reaction occurs at the lower end of the purified water stream which generates H+ and OH ions for ion resin regeneration.
